Standard Apps That Can Be Deleted

Most of the default Apple apps on your iPhone can be uninstalled completely with iOS 10, meaning you will also delete the user data and configuration seetings of those apps.

At the same time you will free up memory space, even though Apple says that all those apps together do not take up more than 150 megabyte of memory. So this is not a trick to free up memory space but rather to get rid of those annoying unused app icons on your Homescreen.

The following default apps can be deleted:

  • Calculator
  • Calendar
  • Compass
  • Contacts
  • FaceTime
  • Find Friends
  • Home
  • iBooks
  • iCloud Drive
  • iTunes Store
  • Mail
  • Maps
  • Music
  • News
  • Notes
  • Podcasts
  • Reminders
  • Stocks
  • Tips
  • Videos
  • Voice Recorder
  • Watch
  • Weather

Delete Apps

The process of deleting a default Apple App with iOS 10 is no different than uninstalling apps from other sources that you downloaded of the Apple App Store. And this is how you do it_

Tap on any app icon on your Homescreen and hold until all the app icons start wiggling around and little x-symbols show up in the upper left corner of each app icon. Tap on this little x of the app you want to uninstall and thus removed from your Homescreen. You have to confirm that you are really sure you want to delete that app by tapping “Remove”.

To finish and exit the delete mode and to get back to your regular Homescreen you have to press the Home-Button.
