How To Use The Group Chats in Snapchat
If you caught the Snapchat fever like many other people at the moment, you will appreciate the new feature that has been added by the latest update. It is finally possible to start group chats and to share snaps with many contacts at the same time. We will show you how you can start a group chat with your Snapchat friends and what you have to know!
In order to benefit of the group chat feature, you need Snapchat for iOS in the version 220.127.116.11 or later. This version got released on December 13, 2016 and is offered as a usual OTA update.
You can update Snapchat if necessary. Just open the App Store on your iPhone and go to Updates in the bottom bar.
Create group chats in Snapchat
To create a group chat you have to take the following steps:
Open Snapchat on your iPhone and go to the chat display by swiping to the right. Tap the icon for starting a new chat in the left top corner.
Use the “To” field to enter all the contacts that you want to start the group chat with.
Tap the blue “Chat“ button at the bottom, give the group a name and start chatting.
Useful tips you need to know
You can add up to 16 friends.
Messages in group chats will be deleted after 24 hours. So there is no difference to normal messages.
However, messages in group chats can be saved. Press and hold down a certain message and choose “Save”.
You can also start a personal conversation in the group chat. Just click the name and write a PM.
If you are leaving the group, all your messages in the group will be deleted and other group members cannot see them anymore. Your messages will not come back in case you reenter the group.
