Taste is a matter of choice. We are going to try it anyway: The design of the iPhone hasn’t gotten an update for some years. Apple relies on an aluminum uni-body with rounded edges for the past three generations. Hence, iPhone users have every right to crave for innovation. Apple may realize it in the upcoming iPhone 8/iPhone 7s. According to the rumors, the iPhone of the next generation might have a curved OLED display. The Samsung Galaxy S7 already has this curved front already. Therefore, speaking about innovation: Samsung is ahead of Apple.
The iPhone 7, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S7 are dust- and water-resistant. The iPhone 7 got the IP67 Standard. So it can resist dives into water for 30min in 3ft depth. The Samsung model even meets the IP68 requirements, so that it can dive 2ft deeper. However, the differences are marginal, so that they are practically negligible. The result is that both smartphones are extremely robust.
The iPhone 7 definitely scores with the camera. Although both smartphones have a 12 megapixel main camera, the photo results show significant differences especially for poorly exposed subjects. Diverse tests show, that it has a huge impact on the image noise. The iPhone even is ahead in videos, because of the optical image stabilizer.
When it leaked out, that Apple gets rid of the jack port on the iPhone 7, people feared a worse sound quality. In reality the sound is even better with the new headphones, compared to the previous models. The bad side is that you always have to carry around an adapter to be able to listen to your favorite music. It is also impossible to charge and listen to music at the same time.
The iPhone 7 also beats the Galaxy S7 in the battery life. Although the Samsung smartphone has a bigger battery capacity (3000mAh), the iPhone 7 can make it 2 hours longer in using app than the Galaxy S7. Even if the iPhone 7 only has a capacity of 1960mAh, it has a better consumption, when it comes to app use.
This is another advantage of the iPhone 7. The A10 Fusion Processor makes the Apple phone the fastest available smartphone at the moment. The iPhone 7 was almost twice as fast as the Galaxy S7 in some tests.
A lot of things are speaking for the iPhone 7 in a direct comparison with the competitor’s model.
