Speed Test Shows: iOS 9.3.2 Great News for Older Devices

The latest beta version of iOS 9.3.2 shows great promise for older iPhones in terms of performance. While iOS 9.3 has already been an improvement in terms of fluidity on more recent devices, the upcoming update should provide users of older devices with a better experience. The beta comes a few weeks after Apple had released iOS 9.3.1 to fix a few crucial security loopholes and bugs. Performance issues after updating iOS have long been a cause for concern with older iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices.

The testers at iAppleBytes have tried the newest beta of iOS 9.3.2 on the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 and compared it to the currently latest final version of iOS 9.3.1 in terms of performance. The test clearly shows that several native apps such as the Safari browser, the App Store and Apple Music open more quickly with the beta. They are also more responsive right after opening, as opposed to the slight delay on the previous version. Booting up your iPhone is also quicker on the beta. Even devices such as the iPhone 6 seem to benefit from the optimizations.

It would be unwise to expect a huge difference, after all iOS is already fairly optimized for all of the devices. With growing complexity, the mobile operating system tends to run slower on older iPhones. Nonetheless, iOS 9.3.2 appears to provide noticeable benefits.
