It means: Now iOS 10 users have the option to send WhatsApp messages and start video calls by using Siri after the WhatsApp update. One of the most exciting benefits of the iOS 10 is definitely the integration of Siri into third-party provider apps. Now the chat service WhatsApp used the virtual voice assistant and included it in the own application.
To use Siri for WhatsApp messages, you have to make sure, that you have installed iOS 10 and the latest version of WhatsApp. You can upgrade your iPhone to iOS 10 in your Settings under the section General → Software update. After doing this upgrade, go to your App Store app, tap on the tab “Updates”. Have a look, if there is a new version available. You should install the newest version now, if you haven’t done yet.
In addition you have to allow WhatsApp to use Siri. You can do this in your Settings. Choose Siri → App Support and tap the button next to “WhatsApp”.
Sending WhatsApp messages with Siri
Siri will guide you step-by-step through the procedure of sending a text message to one of your contacts. After telling Siri, that you want to send a WhatsApp message, Siri will ask you who you want to send a message to. Then she will ask you, what you want to tell the certain person. Afterwards Siri will verify the message and to finally send the message, you have to tap on the “Send” button or loudly say “Send”.
